What is rake? Rake is a way for poker rooms to make a profit. They take money out of every pot that is won in a cash game. Usually, the rake is around 5% of the total pot, and is $0.05 - $3 depending on the table stakes.

What is Rakeback? Rakeback is a way for poker players to get some of the raked money back. In most cases, poker players sign up with a poker room through an affiliate who can offer them a good rake back deal. If a player has, say, a 30 % rakeback deal, he will get 30 percent of his raked money refunded at the end of every month. This money often turns a loosing month into a winning, or a good month into a great one.

Can I get rakeback if I already have a poker account? Unfortunately you can’t in most cases. But sometimes you can switch skins and still play on the same network but from another poker site. Ask the affiliate about the specific room, and you’ll get the information you need.

What is a rakeback affiliate? Affiliates help poker rooms with their promotion. If they sign a player, they are paid a small percentage of the player’s rake. However, the major part of the rakeback is transferred to the player’s poker account.
